Don’t Call It a Comeback!

Ahem. Pardon me while I dust off my keyboard and get back into the blogging groove. It’s been a while.

To be honest, I never intended to take such a lengthy hiatus from the blogosphere (they still call it that, right? I’m so out of touch). Those of you who used to follow my old blog probably remember that I sometimes would disappear for a few weeks at a time, only to resurface and start over again.

But six months? I don’t think I ever went that long. A lot has happened since then.

I published a new book, Numb. This turned out to be a sort of stealth release. I announced it on Facebook, but that was about it. That’s kind of a shame. I really like that book (I mean, obvs, it’s mine, but it’s a story I’m very proud of). I’m hoping more people will stumble across it, which I think might happen. The Christian Science Fiction & Fantasy Blog Tour will be featuring it soon.

I took a trip to St. Louis to be a part of the Christy Awards and another to Indianapolis for the ACFW National Conference. Being at the Christys was an interesting experience. I was especially was glad to have my agent, Amanda Luedeke, and fellow author Jill Williamson at my table. Like they say, it was an honor to be nominated.

While all of that is well and good, though, I have to admit to feeling a bit of guilt about neglecting my blog for so long. I mean, I was in the middle of an on-line story, my own little version of a found footage horror film. My sabbatical from blogging meant it “ended” on a cliffhanger. For those of you who were following it, don’t worry, one of my “New Year’s resolutions” with this new blog is to get that going again and finish it.

What brought me back? I can’t say for sure. I think I just felt the need, the itch, the desire to not just start blogging again, but to put together this snazzy new website.

So here we are, folks. Welcome to the Least Read Blog 2.0. Feel free to poke around the site. Kick the tires, as it were. If you find something that’s not quite kosher, let me know. That’s what the contact tab is for!

Oh, and we’re not done quite yet! Tomorrow, I’ll be breaking in my contests tab with a special contest to celebrate the relaunch of JohnWOtte.com and this blog.

So buckle in, folks. It’s going to be an interesting ride!
