Give Thanks!

I know that many of you are probably in the throes of getting ready for annual turkey-coma day, also known colloquially as Thanksgiving. This is one of those holidays that are loaded with family traditions.

I used to have a Thanksgiving tradition that I haven’t had the joy to experience in a while. It’s best summed up like this:

(But I do know this one has been resurrected; I just can’t participate).

Whatever your family traditions are, be sure to take time to give thanks to the one who blesses us richly day by day. Like it says in Psalm 67:

May God be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to shine upon us,
that your way may be known upon earth,
    your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

The earth has yielded its increase;
    God, our God, has blessed us.
May God continue to bless us;
    let all the ends of the earth revere him.

Happy thanksgiving!
