You’d think that, since this is the actual anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, I’d have some long, drawn out post as part of my on-going series about Lutheranism.
Yeah, I don’t.
Part of that is because, well, I already wrote a post about what the whole nailing-of-the-95-theses was all about. It seems kind of redundant to tell that whole story over again when I can simply just link to it.
And second, it just doesn’t feel right to discuss some minutiae of Lutheran theology today. This is about the bigger picture, how 499 years ago, some uppity little German monk shook up Western Christendom and changed it, both for good and for ill.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m having fun with this series and I’m definitely going to continue it. But next week. For now, I’ll leave you with this:
