Gather ’round, folks, because I have a story to tell you. Sometime after I finished writing Numb, I realized that I wasn’t quite done telling stories in that universe yet. My mind kept churning, wondering what was happening in the Ministrix and Praesidium after Crusader and Isolda’s adventure. And pretty…
In Romans, Paul encourages us to confess and believe so that we might be saved. Over the last two weeks, we looked a little at what it means to confess. But Paul says that when we’re Christian, we believe as well as confess. Sounds simple enough, right? But what, exactly,…
For the past three weeks, I’ve been sketching out the main characters for my hypothetical Star Trek series to relaunch the franchise on TV, namely Starfleet Academy. As I said before, this is just for my own fun and to get these ideas out of my head. While this would…
Last week, we took a look at one way that we confess, namely when we confess our sins. But confessing has another meaning, one that I believe is just as important. “Confessing” is also a way that we take our stand about what we believe as Christians. Jesus puts it…

Last week, we met the first character for my hypothetical Starfleet Academy TV show, namely Cadet Kamlyn Sulu, the great grandson of Hikaru Sulu. He’s a straightlaced legacy type, so we need to find the antithesis to him, someone who could serve as a foil, someone who would maybe bring…
But I mean really, how could you have missed it? Yesterday the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens hit the internet like a storm. But just in case some of you were still in a food coma and/or trapped in a Black Friday-related incident, here’s…
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been ruminating about how I would put together a new Star Trek show, one set at Starfleet Academy. You can check out the previous entries by looking in the little box to the right there. So far, we’ve spoken of the general premise…
I know that many of you are probably in the throes of getting ready for annual turkey-coma day, also known colloquially as Thanksgiving. This is one of those holidays that are loaded with family traditions. I used to have a Thanksgiving tradition that I haven’t had the joy to experience…
