Over the past couple of years, I’ve gotten some fan art, but all of it has been for Failstate. I’m not complaining; I love seeing people’s interpretations of the characters. But I’ve been hoping for a while that someone would show some fan art love for my other literary universe, that of Numb (and The Hive too, even though that one hasn’t released yet).
Well, my wish was fulfilled today. My friend Emileigh L. made the following image and it is epic:
This was part of a book recommendation that Emileigh posted to Instagram and Facebook. This is what she had to say:
I was immediately drawn in the moment I started reading Numb. Crusader is an assassin for the religious institution, known as the Ministrix, that controls the world. He [executes] divine judgement directed by the [Revered] Hand by using his divine gift that makes him numb to his emotions and from feeling any physical pain. As long as Crusader is obedient and remains the sword to the Ministrix, he will be able to let go of his guilt. Which should not be a problem until Isolda Westin becomes his next target. For the first time he feels a wave of emotions and realizes he can’t fulfill his mission. The suspense was awesome and the fast-paced plot kept me turning pages. I even thought about it while I was at work.
I love it. I love it. I love it.
And I want to see more of it.
If you are an artistic type, feel free to send me more fan art! You can do so, either on Facebook or by e-mailing it to me at john@johnwotte.com.
