Okay, okay, okay. I could make the usual excuses, the same ones that I’ve been making for the past several weeks. I wound up taking four days off this week. Or maybe just three days. Life, work, family obligations, yadda yadda yadda. Second verse, same as the first. I won’t keep making the same lame excuses week after week.
Now I did try to make up for it on the other days when I could. And I almost made it. This week, I tacked on another 9,809 words, bringing my grand total up to 67,918 words. And once again, I’m worried. I’m having a lot of fun with the story and exploring some of the world. I even had a brainstorm the other day that will help me tie together the beginning and the end. Progress is being made, but it seems like it’s at a snail’s pace. As a matter of fact, I still haven’t reached what I consider the half-way point of the story. I’m starting to worry that I’m going to have to move my target back again, this time from 125,000 to 150,000 words. That’s problematic, seeing as this is supposed to be YA fantasy.
Oh, well. Onward and upward, as they say!
