Well, things have gotten started off with more of a sputter than a bang.
Life has a way of sneaking up on us and causing chaos and that’s certainly true in the Otte household right now. I won’t go into details, but suffice to say, finding the time to write has been a bit challenging.
Challenging, but not impossible. When last we left the “Mourning Dove” project, I had written 2,735 words. Right now, that count is up to 9,323 words, meaning that in the intervening weeks, I’ve added 6,588 words. Not too shabby, given how long it’s been since I’ve written a book, but I think I need to up the pace a little.
But it’s actually not all bad. The extended fits and starts have allowed me to do some thinking and brainstorming on some missing pieces to the plot. I think I have some of it squared away better now. Time will tell.
If you want to keep track of what I’m up to, you can always swing by and check the MyBookProgress bar in the upper right. I’ll keep that up-to-date as we go.
