Wordcount Wednesday

I’m glad that I’m doing this. I really am. I realize that not many people stop by to check out these Wordcount Wednesday posts, and I’m okay with that. But just the fact that I have to post whether or not I’m writing when I should be is just the sort of kick in the pants that I need.

Sadly, those kicks were misses this week. Life has a way of interfering at times.

But no more excuses. I managed to eke out a little progress on the Kynetic short story. Truth be told, I’m struggling a little bit with some of the details, but that’s part of the fun of a first draft, right? As of right now, the story is at 8,322 words. That means I’ve added 3,204 words since last week. That’s more than I did last week, but it’s not enough.

So there we go. That’s where I am, folks.

Oh, and I know I’m not reporting on The R-Rated Bible. That’s deliberate. I’ll report when I’ve actually added something from here on out.

So let’s see what kind of damage I can do by next Wednesday, shall we? Lent’s right around the corner, and I have a feeling this year it’s going to be a doozy.

  1. With me, word count is kind of up and down. I always figure that slow and steady wins the race!

  2. Well, if it makes you feel any better I always check out your wordcount posts! I enjoy watching the progress made.

And I can’t wait to read Failstate 3 and the new novella! Normally I never cared much for superhero stories but Failstate has made it onto my favorites shelf. I think he’s my favorite superhero now. I’ve read that book close to a dozen times since I got it (something I rarely do with books).

Are there going to be any more Failstate books after Failstate: Refractions? I would really love to read more of this storyworld!

Or maybe a sequel to Numb? I really liked that book too!

    • Hi, Ember!

As of right now, Failstate #3 (the title is still in flux right now) will be the last story set in that universe. For now. We’ll see what the future holds.

I do have a sequel for Numb, but it may never see the light of day, unfortunately. I call it my “pregnant teenage cyborg” book. It’s chronologically a sequel to Numb. Same storyworld, different characters. 🙂

Thanks for reading! This comment made my day!
